Frequently Asked Questions

What agile certifications does Agile Velocity offer?

Agile Velocity offers certifications from leading agile organizations including Scrum Alliance (CSM, CSPO, A-CSM, CAL), Scaled Agile (SAFe certifications including SA, SP, RTE, POPM, SSM), ICAgile (ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, ICP-ENT), and Kanban University (KMP, TKP). All certifications include exam fees and course materials. Our instructors are certified trainers with real-world enterprise transformation experience.

What is the difference between public and private agile training?

Public workshops are open-enrollment classes with participants from various organizations, typically 8-20 people, offered on scheduled dates. Private training is customized for your organization (8-30 participants), delivered at your location or virtually on your schedule. Private training allows you to work on your actual projects, customize examples to your industry, and build team cohesion. For teams of 8 or more, private training is often more cost-effective and impactful.

How long are agile training courses?

Course length varies by certification: Foundational Scrum courses (CSM, CSPO) are typically 2 days. Advanced courses (A-CSM, SAFe courses) range from 2-4 days. Leadership courses (CAL, ICAgile) are usually 2-3 days. All courses include breaks and interactive exercises. Virtual courses maintain the same duration but may be split across multiple days with shorter sessions.

Are Agile Velocity training courses offered virtually?

Yes, all courses are available in virtual (live online), in-person, or hybrid formats. Virtual courses use interactive collaboration tools like Miro and breakout rooms to maintain engagement. Participants receive the same materials, same certifications, and same hands-on experience as in-person classes. Most public workshops are currently offered as virtual live sessions.

What makes Agile Velocity training different from other providers?

Our trainers are active coaches and consultants, not just certified trainers. They bring current, real-world transformation experience to every class. Courses are workshop-style with hands-on exercises, not lectures. We limit class sizes to 8-30 participants for personalized attention. And our training connects to the Path to Agility framework, giving participants a clear understanding of how practices connect to business outcomes.

What should I take: Scrum Master or Product Owner certification first?

It depends on your role. If you facilitate team processes, remove impediments, and coach teams, start with Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). If you define product vision, manage backlogs, and prioritize work, start with Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). Many organizations benefit from having team members take both certifications to understand the full Scrum framework. We recommend CSM first for most beginners as it provides the broadest foundation.
